Mr. Dollar $$$$$$

Connie Hultquist — Sat, 12/03/2005

Last night, I was so tired and was waiting for Jim to get home from work. I decided to watch TV. We have limited cable. So ya get the dumb channels that no one watches that has any brains at all. But I turned to this new Christian channel and there stood Mr. Dollar $$$. You know the ministry of Creflo Dollar?

Boy, is this guy a piece of work. He preaches, "The glory of the Lord is your money." He goes on to say that when the poor folks gather around the fence out by his multi-million buck house, he turns the porch light on so they can see how rich he is. And he drives, I think he said, a Rolls Royce car? And he likes to show it to the poor to let them know how good God is. Well, are the sheep dumb enough to forget how Mr. $$$ got the money in the first place? He robbed it from the sheep who were dumb enough to give it to him. That poor dumb cluck preacher thinks he is like Solomon? He thinks he got his $$ because he was wise and God blessed him.

Ever heard of the old time Medicine Shows? Where the barker gets up there and lies to the ignorant that his elixir will cure cancer and grow legs? He could hoodwink a wooden post. But, ya know, because of the lack of preaching the truth, we have come up with Mr. $$$.

Some of you made him rich. He ain't given you his rent money. I know when Jim was first saved and came home to a family to support, our first Christmas was gonna be a lean one. So Jim noticed I had some mail from the PTL Club. I had felt sorry for Tammy because she cried on the TV? So I sent her 5 bucks. So about every day, we got mail from these people. My Jim read all the mail. And so he wrote to Tammy and Jim Baker and told them he didn't have any money to send them and he needed money for Christmas for his children. So he asked them for some money. They wrote back that they didn't have a fund for that. Well, what made them suppose that any of us had a fund for them?

One of my older relatives belongs to a church that sends the people bills if they don't send in their tithes. Most of the people are older. And the sermons are about "Ya can't take it with ya." And then when these churches prosper and get a lot of money, they think it's because they are blessed of God. I mean, a murderer could kill a bunch of people and then rob a bank. Then they could say God blessed the murder and robbery, because they got all this $$$.

That is what is going on in some of the organized churches today. Money is the new god. But the true sheep ain't falling for it. It ain't gonna be long until there will be some serious shakin' goin' on.

Can you imagine the heartache that some of these people feel in New Orleans. And to watch Mr. $$$ on TV braggin' about his robbery, in the name of Jesus. As if he got this money through hard work. It was hard work, alright, but not honest work. And some of us will be called to be rich in the money of this world. But the almighty God wouldn't give someone a lot of money so he could buy an overpriced car and a mansion.

What would Mother Theresa say about all of this? She would go to the sewer and dig people out of there that were dying. She and the sisters would bring a person home covered with maggots. They would wash the sick, salve their wounds, and minister love to them. If anyone gave her even a car that ran, she would give it to the poor. She and the sisters begged on the street for food to feed the hungry.

Mr. $$$'s message goes all over. I can imagine the men in prison having no hope, watching this Mr. $$$ take up air time. Many of these prisoners are con artists themselves. A con can smell another con a mile away. I know there are many honest loving shepherds who feed the sheep. And, yes, this is their job -- to feed the poor and to clothe the naked. We in the church today need a discerning of Spirits. The Bible is not taught as it should be. The sheep are scattered as they can't hear a strong voice of God.

And, ya know, the world isn't so mad at the underground church. But they hate the Jim Bakers of the religious world. The unbelievers see through the shepherds who are robbing the sheep. The problem with Mr. $$$ and those like him is what will bring some of us who are underground to the surface and cause us to suffer. Because one of these days, the world is gonna put the kibosh on Mr. $$$ and those like him and throw them in prison. Like what happened to Jim Baker, only it will be to all the Jim Bakers. And then the police will come after the folks who are true believers. The world will lump all of us who call upon His name in one group. This is one of the reasons I make it real clear that I am not a follower of the Mr. Dollars of this world. I don't plan on dying for these jokers who are robbing people right and left. I don't support them in any way. They are not harmless by any means -- they are dangerous.

The groundwork for the Christian faith is the family and its order. When a preacher talks only about $$$ and nothing about the order of the family, as taught in the word, then he is not a safe person to listen to.

Some of these preachers who preach you must be rich to enter the Kingdom of God are gonna be the death of us. These preachers don't know the word of God and are preaching to get $$$ and that's it. The have no heart for the sheep. The preacher spouts error from the pulpit. He is deceived and he is deceiving many and taking many to hell. And I for one am not going to stand up for these clowns.

Here I talk about being an underground believer. Well, I guess I ain't anymore, as I am on the internet. "What will you kids think of next?" But if anyone comes after me, I guess Papa will punch 'em in the nose, and Annie will bite 'em in the knee.

P.S. And I always think no one reads my writing.

The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands,
To love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
~ Titus 2:3-5
