Spiritual Housewifery

Faith

Dear Mothers,

I walk out here to write sorta gun shy. Our reponse group has been in a bit of a stir lately concerning my writing. But I must throw caution to the wind and just write what the Lord is giving me. Forgive me if I get out there. But ya know, dear Wives and Mothers, we are in a spiritual war whether you believe in it or not. Or if you beleive in the devil or not. Our country is in a major physical war. We cannot look at our circumstances to judge what we will do. Well, none of the people in the Bible who amounted to anything followed the laws of sin and death. Jesus Christ died upon Calvary to set us free from the laws of sin and death.

We must live our lives as believers free from this world’s ways. The world will tell you that once your husband is a dope user he will always be one. Or a drunk or womanizer or whatever. But God’s word says that he will be a new creature in Christ once he comes to the Lord. We can’t judge ourselves by how much money we have or what kind of house we have. The Word says “Let the poor say I am rich and the weak say I am strong.” And the sick are healed in Jesus name. But we don’t live by this world’s standards.

We are from a heavenly kingdom and are just passin’ through this earth. We are here a short time to be a light in the darkness and to be salt and light. And we can’t do anything for God if we are just living by this world’s standards. We are not from the HELL kingdom of Satan. But we act like it as we walk in the atmosphere of fear and doubt. Satan doesn’t own us and fear is not our leading. If you are led by fear, then you are quenching the Spirit of Peace. You are killing the answers in your life.

If you are not in the Faith Kingdom and walking on the highways of Peace and Rest, then you are out of the will of God. Been there and done that. And I judge myself as a sinner. I pray I will stay out of the kingdom of fear and intimidation and walk with Jesus and His Spirit of faith and Happiness. We give Satan strength for his strongholds as we agree in unbelief. We help him build his kingdom and we shoot with fire from hell the angels that are tryin’ to come to us with a message of hope and faith. We must cast down vain imaginations and all that exalts itself above the knowledge of God. May God forgive me for my unbelief as I have seen His miracles and I am responsible to believe Him and not give up. He has trusted me with a hard trial but I have not passed the test lately. May God forgive me for my unbelief.

See, the walk of homemaking is the walk of faith. But sometimes if we are struck in the gut by the devil, we don’t feel like doing our homemaking. But, of course, we have to as the family needs to eat and have clean clothes to wear. But the JOY of Homemaking isn’t there if we haven’t yet prayed through. The load of suffering is so heavy that our creativity cannot flow. So it takes a while often for me to labor in prayer in order to come into the rest. The rest is when we have prayed through for our family and we know that we know that all is well. Because most of us are not going to be creative with mental confusion and a double mind.

Those who love much and are full of compassion find it hard to pray through. We are passionate for a cause and we won’t give up until we see the loved one set free. It doesn’t matter how long it takes — this mother is gonna suffer until she sees the glory. And it takes a woman like this to pray through. Because love will jump in the middle of the deepest ocean to rescue their baby. They will run into heavy traffic to save their child. No matter what they do, they are gonna grieve until they see their loved one on top. As Mother cries and grieves, the Lord hears her and this is her prayer. But she will have times of rest in this as she sees the vision set before her as God sees it. She sees the answer. She sees through a window of the future days. Not with eyes of this world but with the eyes of her spirit. A part of her lives in the heavenly kingdom and somehow she sees with the eyes that she will use in heaven. And she somehow hears with her spiritual ears. She can’t explain it to the world but she has seen a spiritual vision and she has heard His voice.

I mean at times our young children will have a knowledge that we wonder how they could have so much wisdom at such a young age. Well, it’s as though they are popping into a place in the future. And we, as born again believers, will live a lot longer in heaven than these few years on earth. And wouldn’t eternity, which is forever into millions and billions of years, at times speak to us on earth? We will fly in heaven longer then we have ever walked on the earth. Makes me want to fly now. And, no, Annie I ain’t on drugs … as you can tell, I don’t need ‘em? But on earth we have to use our physical eyes and ears and other senses. But in heaven we will have eyes that are spiritual that can see what we can’t see here on earth. Elijah prayed that the soldiers in God’s army would have spiritual eyes to see all the angels that were there to protect them. And, oh yes, we, too — who have labored in prayer for the past few months — have warring angels about us to protect us and guard us with their spiritual swords. We are not forsaken but cannot see God’s provisions. This is why we must walk by faith. We must know that His Word is true and He is answering our prayers.

A, I am so sorry for what you have been going through. But you have to know that God is on your side. And this battle is not too big for Him. This physical world is a small reality for a small amount of time. Actually it isn’t a reality at all … it is subject to change. But the things of God are yes and amen. God is the same yesterday today and forever. He was here before the world was made and He is the same now as He was then. But the world is here with the laws of death and sin. Satan is the prince of the power of the air in this world we live in. But we are from another kingdom. We are from the Kingdom of heaven. And we don’t play by Satan’s rules. Our rules are God’s rules which makes us look nuts in this world. But we pray and loose heaven upon our loved ones and they are loosed on earth.

Everyone in the Bible that did miracles heard from a supernatural God. They didn’t do great things for God because they went to Bible college. No, they heard a heavenly voice. They heard from an angel or the voice of God.

Love,
Connie

Faith

Dear Homemakers,

Well, here I go again, writing in the midst of children. But I love it. I love all of it. But, boy, my writing just drops off any place. Sorry about that. I do have some quiet time now as Baby is asleep. I just feel such an urgency to write on faith.

So many women around me are going through so much nervousness and fear. I guess I am especially burdened for one friend in particular. A dear friend, I will call her May. I have known May for many years . She called me from her bed last week. “I am so full of fear that I can’t get out of bed.” Now May has all this world could give her and a very wonderful, faithful husband. Not to mention godly, grown children who love God. But the fear about her is too much. Later she had to go to the hospital because of anxiety attacks. These are fear attacks. The only remedy is faith.

See, some of you can’t do your housework or live a godly life because fear is binding you. Spiritual housewifery comes out of a heart that has a dream. If your husband is wayward, how can you clean his house or care for his children unless you are assured by God that your husband is about to be saved — maybe today. Hope is in the future and faith is in the NOW. Each day, get up in the morning and say, “Lord, I plan on a miracle TODAY.” See, if you aren’t doing that, you are planning on not having a miracle and it will be business as usual. Every morning, get up and start a family meal for supper or whenever the family will eat the big meal of the day. Prepare for happy family times. And if they don’t happen that day, then plan the next day for a miracle and each day plan on a miracle. If you aren’t planning on a miracle then you are planning on defeat. Don’t plan a failure by not planning for a miracle.

In my faith, I was good at getting miracles. But I couldn’t hang onto them? But, hey, you are talking to a woman who has had a lot of miracles. As I have gotten older, I have learned how to maintain the miracles and keep them protected. But in the beginning, I couldn’t keep them but could sure get one. By my faith, I would call Jim from all parts of the nation. But I didn’t have the faith to keep my husband. I didn’t give up, though, on my sorry self and kept on goin’ and saw the glory of God.

But see, when you have a husband bound by Satan, he can’t hear God. God depends on the intercessor to get the weaker spouse healed. In the Bible, God used many people who were strong to bring the sick and demon possessed to Jesus. We as Christian wives and mothers labor to bring our loved ones bound by Satan to the feet of the cross. Many are bound by Satan. Dear Mothers and Wives, have mercy on those who are unsaved. Be glad you are the victim and not the one causing all the hell in your family.

I have never committed adultery. “Oh, Lord God, I am so glad to say that.” And I finished the course with Jim and my marriage was saved. I am so glad that I lived for the Lord. I am at peace with my life. Adultery is not fun! Early on in my married life, the Lord had me counsel a harlot who had been married to a Christian man. The tears that woman cried — the hell she went through was unbearable. It is not fun to be an adulteress. Every man she became one with, she received into her spirit.

It’s a looong time before you get your peace back after sex with someone outside your marriage. As a Christian woman who does this stuff, it isn’t like you have sex and then get peace back until the next time? No, God’s peace is a long time coming. This is where many of you women need to see the truth. If a husband is committing adultery, then he is bound in this sin. He is either possessed of the devil or at least oppressed. No man or woman who is practicing adultery is free and having it easy. It is a snare of the devil. See, they become one with a harlot. The Bible says adultery is like idolatry … it is becoming one with a false god.

See, we must walk by faith in every situation of home. We must see our husbands as godly priests of our homes. And you have to get on your husband’s side. He knows if he is bound in sin and he thinks you know that? And he hopes to God you are working on getting him out of it if you are a Christian wife. But Satan lies to you and says your husband is happy in his sin. I mean, I am writing about a man who is practicing adultery or some other sin. But love the sinner and hate the sin and see the sin as God sees it. A man bound in drugs or alcohol ain’t havin’ fun. It may be fun at first until that serpent turns around and bites back. You can play with a snake for a while but, trust me, he will bite you if you hang around long enough. Don’t be deceived — God is not mocked whatsoever you sow you will reap. And if you keep playing with sin, it will own you in the end. At all costs, wives and mothers, make strong homes. In this age, you ain’t gonna live very long if you have a family and you are walking in fear. Learn to walk by faith. The Word says “Let the weak say I am strong. Let the poor say I am rich.” We must learn to call things that are not as though they were.

The load I have carried lately would pound me to the ground if I didn’t walk by faith. But I ain’t goin’ under as I know how to stay on top. Hopefully?

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. You can’t make it alone, dear housewife. Forget it that you think you can make it with just positive confessions. I mean don’t speak negative words. But just because you confess positive thoughts, that won’t take you over. I mean it may for a while? But when you get into some real problems, then nothing will work. I mean when ya can’t get that dog to hunt no matter what ya do? Then you had better have something else goin’ on besides positive words. You gotta start diggin’ for gold and I mean NOW! You have to have a special word from the Lord.

I am famous for running out of road on a daily basis. I just can’t make it without a Word from the Lord. I don’t get up in the morning and start cleaning the house. I am better now. But even last week, I would wake up shaking in my boots. I try to take some of my friends’ nerve pills and they ain’t strong enough to get me to settle down. If I didn’t have Jesus, then nothing would put me out but a sledge hammer. I wish I was a Martha but I am a Mary who MUST sit as His feet, no matter what. If I don’t get a Word from the Lord each day, then you can all kiss my sweet cheeks “Good-Bye.” I have to have a fresh word from Him daily. My mentor Mary L lays prostate before the Lord in her living room and prays on her face for hours. If you want the power of God in your home, you have to pay a price. Oh, I got up this morning and top cleaned and did some laundry before Baby came. But mainly, I pray and watch before the Lord for hours before I come to this e-machine.

And I am tellin’ ya, Dear Heart, we are living in hard times. The earth seems to shake with fear right now. But the wise woman has built her house upon the rock. And the winds come and the rains fall but her house will not fall as she has built her house upon the rock. She is wise. She doesn’t fear this world. She fears God, and the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. She walks by faith and not by sight. God is first place in her heart. And she has a Word from the Lord that says “All is well — all is well. No weapon formed against you will prosper. Your enemies may attack one way but they will flee seven ways. Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world.” The word says that He will contend with those who contend with us and our families. (Isaiah 49:25)

My 2 Cents

Ya know last week or whenever it was, I was watching Fox News. And they said the stock market went up higher then ever in history. They said this meant the economy was good. For who I don’t know. But anyway, ya know what? Just before the Depression era of October of 1929, the stock market hit some all time highs. In the 1890s and on, our country was flyin’ high. But our country began making more produce than what folks could buy and this caused the Stock Market to crash. But that’s not our only problem as we have a war goin’ on. I wonder if it will go into a World War.

I believe God has been merciful to me to let me go through such horrid trials as lately. He is sharpening my faith and warning me to stay with Him. He wants for me to be crisp and clear and on the move when the really hard times come. He wants my children to be warriors and leaders in these days ahead. I am being tested and tried and He wants my visions in Him to be crisp and cutting edge. For these trials, I thank Him. “All things work together for Good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.”

For some of you who are seemingly suffering unbelievably, “Look up for your redemption draweth nigh.” God is getting ready to judge the unbelievers. But for those who are ready in Him, He will show them miracles, grace and sufficiency in Him. Plead for those in your families who don’t know the Lord. Have mercy on them. Walk with them through their darkness. Because a day will come when the way is closed and no man will enter heaven after this day. But don’t mistake the happenings on the earth as judgment to you if you are Gods daughters and He is your Husband. Yes, judgment is coming but it is for those who are rebellious in God. The Lord God is a just God and no one will get away with sin. But see, we as wives and mothers are sinners, too. And we can pick up our loved ones in prayer. God can’t touch sin but He can touch us, as we are born again, and yet still sinners. We are the intercessors — we are the go between heaven and earth. And we must go between God and our prodigals and plead with the Lord in prayer for their lives. If they are in sin and bound, they can’t find their own way. They need an intercessor. A prayer warrior that talks to God on their behalf.

And Mothers of prayer, once we get up off our knees we must talk to the king in our husbands and our sons. We must talk to the queen in our daughters. We raised them for such a time as this. Our handmaidens were raised at our knee. And even though they may act like they were raised by a mother who was an adulteress, they still have a memory of the true Mother who touched her daughter’s heart with the power of God.

With tears and weeping and wailing to the Lord, many of us mothers have paid the price and will win the prize of the high calling of Jesus Christ. We as housewives will someday hear, “Well done thou good and faithful servant.” If you don’t give up, dear wife and Mother, you will see His glory. Run the race and be swift and anointed of God. Stand before your enemies and laugh with your hair and face anointed with the oil of gladness. “Oh well of Joy, come up in the heart of your anointed daughters and let them hear your voice like thunder speaking. Touch not mine anointed and do her no harm.”

Many of us daughters of Zion must live from one anointing to the next. Like riding on the night skies on flashes of lightening. We crave the next anointing — after the last one is barely cooled off. But we live from the pure and living Word spoken fresh from His mouth. We see not or hear not. We are blind to the world around us. We live out of the anointing, the Word spoken in the night as Jesus woke us. Our heart and spiritual eyes are riveted to His eyes and we watch Him and the world to us becomes strangely dim. We are filled with the Holy Spirit.

Love,
Connie

Faith

Dear Mothers,

I have had a teaching on faith in my heart all day but haven’t been able to write as I have been too busy. Oh, wow, what a day! Anyway, I will just jot down some thoughts.

Ya know I was thinking of the scripture that says that faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. I guess for some reason, I thought that if I read my Bible a lot then I will get more faith. And yet the scholars of our day read the Word all the time and many have no faith. So what does this scripture mean? I think it is spiritual. That we get faith as we hear a Word in our hearts from the Holy Spirit. The Bible is a spiritual book. Yes, the Lord could speak a word as we read the Bible or we hear a message on faith. But for us to have the true faith that brings miracles, we have to have a Rhema word from God. Or an alive word spoken to us that says that we know that we know that we know that our miracle is going to happen. And it is this Word made alive in us that is the live seed that will grow and produce a miracle.

Also the Word says that without faith we can’t please God. Ya know on a regular day? You don’t need mountain moving faith to clean the house or homeschool the children. But when we run outta road to walk on and yet we have to keep walking? We have to have faith. The God kind that moves mountains and pleases God. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. OK, we have eyes to see … we can hear and feel and taste and smell. But faith doesn’t have anything to do with our senses. The Bible says faith comes when there is no evidence of a physical answer to the problems. God kind of Faith can’t be experienced if there is a physical way for something to happen, anyway. So a totally hopeless situation is what is needed for the true faith to be played out.

The things we see in the physical realm are subject to change but the eternal is forever. On this earth, we can loose things that will be loosed in heaven. And we can also loose things on earth that loose hell and its demons. All through our imaginations. In the area of our imaginations is where our faith is to be played out. Our visions are our power and they move heaven and earth and hell. If we are born again and we abide in the vine of Christ, then anything we ask in Jesus name we receive. But if we get into unbelief, we cause all kinds of hell on earth. We are powerful beings. We are made like that. The same power that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us.

In the Spirit realm, we do not use our eyes or our senses. Our physical senses are to be used for this earth and for our business here on the earth. But the spirit realm, in our spirits, we don’t use the physical senses. Just like we don’t smell with our eyes. Or we don’t taste with our ears. With faith, we don’t use our physical eyes or ears. I mean we know the wind moves the branches on the trees with an invisible power, the wind. And our faith is like the wind — it moves things mysteriously. Faith moves mountains, as it is more powerful then the wind.

How do we see with spiritual eyes and hear with spiritual ears? We see with our imaginations. God speaks to us about our imaginations. We are to cast down vain imaginations and all that exalts itself above the knowledge of God. The Word says that if we delight ourselves in Him, He will give us the desires of our heart. OK, the desires of your heart are your map inside your spirit to guide you. Of course, if the desire of your heart is evil, then I would question if you really loved Jesus. But if you have a wayward husband, then, of course, as a Christian wife, the deepest desire of your heart would be that your husband be saved. But then the devil comes along and says, “It ain’t gonna happen.” He speaks to you through your eyes and your ears and then he gets you to imagine evil and this is his stepping stones to get his work done.

FEAR

FEAR is faith in reverse. It is like faith but it produces evil instead of good. It is powerful and moves the flesh. It moves our flesh into perversions of all kinds. And it produces diseases and accidents and all the sins of the flesh.

Fear has to be present for Satan to work. He lives and breathes and has his being in an atmosphere of fear. Fear in a home, day after day after day, will produce wickedness. Satan will stay until he gets something done and then he will leave. At all costs, get the fear out of the house. Don’t live with it and hope things will work out. Satan ain’t gonna leave your house just because he feels sorry for ya. He breathes disease and fear and it is his workshop. Fear is a feast to him and deceit and lies are what he is powerful in. But see, God is greater. He is greater in us then he (Satan) in the world. So we can get rid of the fear in our homes by getting a word from God.

Satan won’t mind you — he just minds Jesus. So you have to pray and get a word from the Lord. You have to put Jesus first. Maybe you can just sit in a chair with the baby and pray. Pray until you can SEE the answer to your prayers. Pray until you know that flesh and blood has not told you the answer but only the heavenly Jesus has told you the answer.

See, the Lord is heavenly, daily manna. You have to ask Him everything all day long. Don’t move out on your own. Hear His voice through your spirit and through making sure your mind is clean and on the Word of God. If you are thinking negative thoughts about your family, then these are thoughts from Satan. No one knows the future. We have to stand on the word that says we will be saved and our household. Also the Word says that it isn’t His will that any perish. So if we think someone is hopeless, then our mind is being controlled by Satan and not the Holy Word of God.

Often the devil will tell us that our kids are doing wrong and we don’t know that they are, but we have a feeling, a fear that says they are doing wrong. This feeling didn’t come because someone told us that but it came out of our imaginations. And sometimes our kids do things that help our imagination to live in full bloom. But it is not usually the truth. Sometimes it is the truth? You can’t tell, as Satan is a deceiver and will play cat and mouse games with ya until you turn blue. But God’s word is true. It always is true! And it is eternal.

Ya know years ago, as I was believing for Jim to come home — man, it was hard. I would just get in bed and cover up my head and give up. I had no hope for sure. But God would speak to me of the God kind of faith. The kind that moves mountains. And I can say truthfully that when I would pray the prayer of faith, I would begin to see a miracle … and these were true miracles. I didn’t know where Jim was and no one else did, either. So it wasn’t like someone told me he was coming home. But when I would begin to renew my mind with the Word of God and give my imaginations to God, I would see a miracle. Jim would come home and God would give us some happy days. But then the fear would come and Jim would leave again. Jim said he felt like a yo-yo. But my faith brought him home and my fear would cause him to leave. Jim was a sinner — he was bound by Satan. But see, I was the intercessor and I held in my hands the answer for both of us. Eventually, I learned how to walk by faith and not by sight. Now I live like this all the time.

Reality isn’t this physical world or what we see with our eyes. We shouldn’t go around making all of our decisions by the rules of this world. Because this world is a passing thing. But true reality is Christ and His Word. He is eternal and we will live forever in heaven and that will be forever. Reality is the eternal life after this life. Don’t give yourself to a world that you won’t live in for more then an earthly lifetime. We who know Him were created for heaven.

Equip the Saints

Ya know the world is so full of terror lately and fear. The earth seems to be so unstable because of the sin in it. It seems our foundations are so shaken. And yet we should rejoice as He has overcome the world. Our faith overcomes the world and the laws of sin and death.

Some of us women are very sensitive to the spirits out there. Both holy and unholy spirits. Wow, some of us walk about as accidents going someplace. I know I do. We yield our faith to this and that and then to the fear and, boy, do we get smacked in the head. I don’t feel our diet has near as much to do with our nervous worry as our level of faith going up and down. The Word says to keep your heart for out of it is the issues of life. Yes, we should eat healthy if we can. But during the Depression era, folks didn’t hardly have any food but they lived on faith.

Well, I am interrupted so best stop.

Love,
Connie

Wilderness Women

Dear Mothers,

I am so tired this morning, I would have to dress up just to get shot. The new baby girl who is a one year old is so active. She is a doll baby, though. I can say that. She tries to eat everything. I turned around to look at her and she had a brown crayola hanging out of her mouth like a cigar. I only have her on Wedneday and Thursday. And it’s a good thing as I would be dead by now if it was three days a week. Today I have Olivia Rose who is 8 weeks old and she is asleep. I just haven’t had any time to write. But today should be an easier day. And tomorrow is Saturday. I love having the children but, boy, have I been busy.

I am so happy I can stay home and not have to go out to work. I have had so many thoughts about the Lord that I haven’t been able to write down. I feel full but a bit confused as to what I should write.

I think one thing that has been a lot on my mind is the fear that seems to be out there. It seems so many are having anxiety attacks. Most of the women I know are on meds for nerves. I take them sometimes myself. But the Lord has been speaking to me lately about the discerning of spirits. A good friend of mine (we have been close for almost 40 years) just went to the hospital lately over an anxiety attack. That fear could kill us if we let it get too out of hand. We live in an era of such a feeling of doom around us. But an overcoming feeling of fear for no apparent reason is an attack of Satan.

Ya know the Lord says in His word that in the end days there would be so much deception, even the elect would be deceived. And here’s my 2 cents on that. Well, first of all, I want to say something about the prophetesses and prophets of our age. See I learned a lot from being Dixie’s friend. She was godly in the beginning and then backslid. We think if someone is helping us or the Lord uses them in our life and we are set free, then they are of God. But, see, I can play the piano by ear if I am right with God or not. I have this gift. Some women are very gifted. They are seers and visionaries. This is why when I heard the gospel message, I came to Christ so easily and believed in miracles right away. Because in my old life, I had made friends with the devil and knew him to be supernatural. The truth that set me free to receive Christ was the truth that I saw in the Word that said that Christ was the stronger power. I didn’t know that. I thought if someone tried to fight me that my first punch was supposed to nearly kill ‘em. I didn’t know that Jesus was God — I thought He was just a man. But, see, I thought Satan was the king of kings on the earth. I knew I was goin’ to hell but thought I would get a special place as I was so bad. Then I read a book telling me what hell was like. YE-OW! I ran to Jesus as fast as I could. Oh Yeah! But, see, I was very spiritual but didn’t know the Lord Jesus. But just because someone is spiritual and does signs and wonders for ya is not a sign they are of God or will tell you the truth.

Now see, Jonah was like this. He was a true prophet called of God but he went the wrong way. As he was taking a boat out of town to the wrong town, he could have gotten you set free because he knew the Lord personally. I mean even though he was in rebellion. Judas walked with the disciples. He healed the sick and raised the dead, too. But He was a deceiver. And the Bible tells of many false prophets in the Word of God. And the Bible says not to believe every spirit but to test them to see if they are of God. Also the Word says that in the last days many would say “Haven’t I cast out devils and done many mighty works in your name?” And Jesus says He never knew them.

The Bible says Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get it. Wisdom, I mean. The Bible says that the every wise woman builds her house and the foolish tear it down with her hands. Then there is the parable of the wise man who built his house upon the ROCK.

And ya know at times, I get so spiritually hungry. And I turn on TV and watch the prophetesses speak. It’s like going through the dumpster to try to find something to eat. See, our country is in a famine of the true word of God. It is no longer preached. But I can listen to prophets at times and pick up on what God is saying. It’s like tryin’ to listen to a tape recorder with a ten piece band marching in front of you. But God speaks His heart to me and often I can see He has spoken to the prophetess the same thing but she is in rebellion. See, women like Joyce M and some like Gloria Copeland are true prophetesses but are in rebellion. No one could dispute that. They are gifted and have an inner voice speaking the power of God. But they are Jonahs and are going the wrong way. They are Christian feminists. God has called them to be virtuous women — to be keepers at home. How powerful they would be if they would obey God. Think of the abortions they could stop with their prayers. Think of the marriages they could save. No, I don’t have the power of God that Gloria has. But I have the TRUTH. And I am tellin’ you that in these last days, the Truth is what is gonna take you to heaven, not your power.

I am tellin’ you what. The foundation of our nation is shakin’. We must be true to God and His word at all cost. No matter what we see or hear or experience, we must stay on the marriage covenant. This is our stability and our covering. We can’t go around thinking about who should get a divorce or whatever. I am tellin’ you what. God has kept me as I have stayed in my marriage promise. And yes, even though Jim is in heaven, I am going to still honor my marriage until I die. And this has brought stability to me, even as I have had many adjustments as a widow. But, see, the Bible speaks as wisdom being a foundation. The fear of God is the beginning of Wisdom.

The whole Bible speaks of the powerful women of faith as women who are keepers at home. None are preachers who stand up in church with a word from the Lord. She is not the spiritual leader as she stands and takes authority. She does take authority as she is obedient to her husband. Yes, she leads, guides, and directs the home with her prayers and intercessions. But on the outside, she learns in silence and subjection to her husband. Her husband is priest and covering of her life in the home. Jezebel stood up and ordered the prophets about. But Mary waited on God to give her beloved Joseph a dream. Elisabeth never told her husband off for not believing God. Zacharias was not a good and righteous man. And God took his voice away until John was born. And Elisabeth was the woman of faith who really saved the life of John through her faith.

True women of God are silent but deadly. God stands up for her and orders heaven and earth to attend her. She is not the strange woman who won’t go home and be a servant to her husband. She is not full of pride. She takes the secret place and hides away unto God until God calls her out. She has a place with God and doesn’t cry out for the attention of others. She has forsaken father and mother to cleave to her husband. She has abandoned herself to her husband and his seeds.

The word says that our children are not to forsake the law of their mothers. And the true mother of God would not ask her daughter to forsake her husband. And in this age of wickedness, we had better stand even more upon the marriage covenant. If your husband is truly hopeless or would harm the children, I think the Lord would cause the husband to leave. Because He says that the believer should not leave the unsaved. But too often, the wife leaves a terrible husband, only to find a boyfriend is doing worse to the children than the husband was. No. I mean, guard your children. And if husband doesn’t leave, then stand for the children and don’t let him harm them.

I want to say again that it isn’t the power we have as women — it is the TRUTH we have. I mean, the Bible says that we are to be keepers at home. So, of course, the devil is gonna try to throw us out of the house and into the lions den of the world. A mother bird thrown out of her nest will do a lot of tap dancin’, especially if there is a cat in the area. And it seems a lot of these women are like that.

Well, I have to go.

Love,
Connie

We Have Jesus Christ

Dear Mothers,

Thursday Emily, Dixie’s daughter, stopped for a visit. It was a visit outta this world, of course. And Em brought me groceries as her Mom always did when I had the whole family here.

As we visited, Emily was telling me about when her Mom would be in prayer at the kitchen table. Emily said she knew well not to interrupt when her Mom was praying. But Em said when she was young, she would want something really bad like a new bike or something. So she would get anxious about it and, knowing her mom’s prayers were always answered, she would try to interrupt her mom’s prayers with, “Mom, ask God if I can have a new bike. ” (Or whatever it was at the time.) Dixie would turn from the face of God to Emily and say, “You ask Him, Emily.” And I can’t count the times I have heard Dixie say to Emily as we were all visiting at the kitchen table, “Emily, you have Jesus Christ. What more do you want?”

Em is half Dixie and half Bill, and even having half of Dixie in for an afternoon visit is miraculous — always miraculous. Emily strayed, as Mary has, and Em says in Dixie style, “Connie, Mary is going to be alright. I prayed about it. It’s all going to be OK.” And I told Em, “If you say so, Em … and I surely agree with ya.” Jill says Mary will be OK, too, if I can just live through it.

I have to laugh when I think of Emily as she sat on my couch and talked to me. She has a wonderful sense of humor. She says, “I seen plenty as you three sat at your table and prayed.” And then she would roll her eyes towards my dining room. We three mothers entertained our kids with signs and wonders that we mothers didn’t even know the kids noticed. Emily is only about 29 but she has a lot of wisdom to share with me. See, when you are a very spiritual mother and you teach your children at your knee, you just think they will know how to live your teachings once they get out on their own. But, see, Satan is out to get you as Mom and if you are spiritual, he can’t get ya? You know how to protect yourself. But once your prize possessions, your children, get out there and away from your protection, then he goes and tries to get them. They think that when they are home and protected that things will always be that way. You don’t put the children around crazy people and so they don’t know who is crazy and who isn’t once they get into the world. And see, we three mothers made such a haven of rest for our kids that they almost felt a holy peace all the time. But once they get out there in the world, the world nabs ‘em. But really, it is a test and they have to pass this test on their own.

See, Jill and Dixie and I all had parents who didn’t really know the Lord. We were faithful wives and mothers but we had no backup. Plus we had unsaved husbands. So we often had to fight our parents to do the right thing and follow God. Then we have kids who fought us for our faith, too. So the scripture that says “we fight not against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities and wickedness in high places” is true.

No matter how the accusers were packaged, it is the devil’s voice screaming condemnation. We have to know who’s who in our fights of faith. But see, like Em said, “Connie, if the house was on fire, Mom would have just said in a calm voice, ‘Well, I guess the house is on fire. I guess we better go.’” You couldn’t rattle Dixie with a rattlesnake. When Jim was at his worst, Dixie would say in a calm voice, “What’s wrong with you? Jim is healed.” I could have killed her when she would say that because he didn’t look healed to me. But Dixie would tell everyone Jim was healed. She always said, “Connie, don’t worry what people think — just look at Jesus Christ.” And last night I prayed for Mary, age 21. I prayed most of the night. And when I woke up this morning, the thought came to me, “Connie, you have Jesus Christ. What more do you need? He has promised to meet all of your needs. He says in His Word that all things are possible.”

And ya know, God’s Word says that He is greater in us than he who is in the world, the devil. Our strength is in our confidence and quietness in God. There is no reason to fear for any of us who have unsaved loved ones. Or for husbands who don’t obey the Word. All is well. Jesus Christ hasn’t been knocked off His throne. There is no truth outside of Jesus and His Word. He is the way the Truth and the Life. Is He your truth? Is He my truth? If He says, “Anything we ask in Jesus name we receive” then is this true to us? Or do we think He is a liar like Satan? Mark 11:23 and 24 says that we are to believe that we have what we ask for. If we believe it, wouldn’t we tell it like that, at least to ourselves?

Yes, we must cry out to God first until we catch the revelation that our loved ones are OK. But once we get it tight in our hearts that “all is well” ya know what? The Devil wants to steal the truth from our hearts. And we have to keep the truth in our hearts so it can bear fruit. See, Satan has tried to scare me to death. Jim died and then Mary and Brandon went crazy. I mean, duh, let me see … “Connie, is the devil tryin’ to take you down or what?” Well, yeah, he would like to. But ya know I sense lately that he is more afraid of me than he used to be. And I don’t plan on dyin’ quietly. I am gonna call fire outta heaven before I go. And I will tell the devil one thing. “If Jim got saved, Mary will come back to the Lord.” ‘Cause Jim was a much bigger gun than Mary ever will be. Hello? Satan has meant these many trials of my faith to destroy me but God has meant it for good. “Oh, dear Jesus, I have been here before. I have been here before.” And Jim was delivered and set free. And like Philipa told me the other night on the phone, “Connie, if you hadn’t written your testimony in Above Rubies, I would never have read it here in England. Your testimony saved me and my children.” Oh, Satan hates that testimony that Jim was set free. And he knows I am a writer and I write what the Lord does for me. I am a giant tattletale. And when I tell it, I tell it to the world. I have told it all over the world through Above Rubies magazine.

Some of you ask how I went through all of that with Jim and got a miracle. Well, if you have kept up with my writings on Mary and my prayers for her, you will know how I made it with Jim. One day at a time. The hard way. Ya have to not care if you are shot down a hundred times — it’s the gettin’ back up that is powerful. Ya learn to put up with yourself and your mistakes. Because no one does this faith walk without mistakes. I have made glaring mistakes with Mary. But you just don’t worry about your mistakes … you just forgive yourself and get back up.

God trusts you in the dark. He sees the arrows hit your heart but He trusts you to take care of your wounds and get back up. The worse the trial, the more you know that He trusts you to take care of it. He don’t tell ya everything to do. He just expects you, as a flesh and Holy Spirit filled covenant woman, to deal with the situation at hand. He is all Spirit but we as women are on the earth to be keepers of the nest and those who live in it. God expects us to minister to the family. When we have done all we can do inside the wall of home and need a supernatural intervention, then He comes and gives it to us. But if we drop away from Him and His spirit, then we are on our own to find Him and get back up. And I fall every day. But see, Satan wants to tell you that you will never make it because you fall all the time. Or that you just don’t have what it takes to get back up. Or that you are too old or this trial has taken too long. Oldest trick in the book of Satan’s is “Well, this has taken so long. If God was gonna do something, he would have by now.” Mostly Satan lies to us and deceives us. He likes to get rumors goin’ and lies to flyin’. Don’t believe the lies. Believe God.

And ya know, I am almost 60 years old. And I have been walkin’ the faith walk a long time. And I have a nice notch on my gun that I like to take out of the holster and show you all that God saved Jim. But with all of that, I don’t mind tellin’ ya it’s been hard lately. And I don’t know how some of you are makin’ it in this wicked society. But ya know it ain’t all about me. It’s all about Jesus Christ. His grace is sufficient for us. Where sin abounds grace much more abounds.

They are saying on Christian TV that about four percent of the young folks under 25 profess to be Christians. As the generations have dwindled down less and less, each generation is choosing not to be Christians. Oh, this breaks my heart. The school of the Holy Spirit is inside the walls of the home. As mothers are serious about home and family, they come closer to God. But we have so many of our leaders who believe in birth control. And when you take that stuff, you shut the children of God off. You stop the work of God. Just like if John the Baptist’s mother had been on birth control. Aren’t you chosen of God enough to have a John the Baptist? Or are you called to baby your dog and cat for the rest of your life? We Mothers who have children under 25 have been brought to the stage for such a time as this. Let’s not shame the cause of Jesus Christ. We may be raising up leaders even now that will save our world.

See, what I teach is grassroots stuff. And many of you will be called to raise up children to change our world. See, the church teachings usually don’t come up with the new stuff in the Spirit. They love birth control which brings a deception — it’s good for business, but not for Christian families. It was years before they figured out homeschool. The true teaching of God’s heart will come from a man in the wilderness like a John the Baptist. And lately, as I look at the postcard Dan’s band sent me from Oregon, I have quit asking “Lord, why do the punk rockers love me?” And I was joking about asking them if I could join their band. But lately I am practicing the piano a lot. I really don’t have anything else to do but start a REVOLUTION. Not that I think I could. But I am sure Jesus Christ would like to start one and, if I am willing, He is able. And ya know the kids now days need a lot more then we needed to make it. And the church is gonna have to come up with a lot more than they have been to keep the young adults. They need and want reality.

I praise God for the trials I have had with Mary. My heart has been broken and my flesh has been burned away. My food and my drink is Jesus. But I do believe we are all going through the school of hard knocks. And if God doesn’t teach us in the quiet times how to work when things get really tough on the earth, does He really love us? I praise Him today for the lessons I am learning. And I am hiding the word in my heart concerning Mary. And I am Praising Jesus Christ for the Victory! Because if we don’t keep Him and His word first place in our hearts, then it can’t work. No, we can’t confess negative. But to me, if the Word is in our hearts, it will come out our mouth without us having to confess anything. It is our hearts, our souls, our minds.

What is in our inner court? We must be quiet and confident in God and hold His Word in our arms, as if He were a newborn baby. We must love His Word more than we love the world or the things of the world.

Love,
Connie

The Supernatural

Dear Mothers and Wives,

Ya know for so long in the church world, it seems that either ya got preaching on the gifts of the Spirit or the teachings on marriage and the home. And the teachings on the home never have the teachings on miracles in it. But as we look at the Word of God, we see the teachings on the home mixed with the supernatural.

In the Word of God, supernatural births are common. Ya know when Zacharias, John the Baptist’s father, went into the temple as the priest to make sacrifices for the people, an angel spoke to this priest and he said, “Fear not. God has heard your prayers and you will have a son and his name will be John.” Well, we know the story as Zacharias started to argue with the angel in unbelief. And then the angel struck the priest dumb and he wasn’t to speak until after the baby was born. Zach wasn’t used to seeing that many angels and thought he could argue with one and win. In the old days, Zach had prayed for a son when he was young. But he gave up on that prayer and decided to go ahead and live his life without a child. But with God, there is no time or age. God doesn’t care if you are past your change of life or whatever. He gives you a baby when He says it’s time. The same with Sarah. But my point is this. If we don’t listen to the angels, we will be punished.

It should be a common thing for us to hear from angels. It was common in the Word of God. And ya know it is important to read the Word and stand on it. But we must not neglect the Holy Spirit or the heavenly messengers. The heavenly messengers should be more real to us than the flesh. I was saved in a Baptist church. I mean when you went in there, they gave you a list of things that they didn’t believe in. They didn’t believe in tongues or the gifts of the Holy Spirit. But we as believers need the heavenly messengers and we need the gifts of the Holy Spirit. For us to not listen to an angel when he speaks or to not speak to an angel that we sense in the room is to walk blindfolded, deaf and dumb before the Lord.

We as Christian wives and Mothers should be living halfway between heaven and earth. We shouldn’t be judging our lives by what the world says about us. We should judge ourselves by heaven. The rules of heaven should apply in our homes. “His kingdom come. His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Our homes cannot be run as heaven is run if we don’t believe in the supernatural power of God. We need heavenly wisdom from God. We need in our homes the supernatural voice of the Holy Spirit. We need to know how to shake the heavens with our prayers. And you can’t do that, dear wife, as you respond to the flesh. Even our husbands have to get out of the way when we storm heaven. Yes, serve your husband as the King of the Home. A good wife is on earth and tends to the things of the earth but she has one foot always in Glory.

Every day almost, I tell God, “Ya know, God, I am so glad I stormed the gates of heaven for Jim.” I have a victory in my life that no one can take away. I can feel the glory of in my feet and coming up my legs as I teach this. I went through hell with Jim. But I fought all of hell for Jim. He was my foundation. And now as he has gone onto glory. I have that happiness that I know I fought the good fight of faith. I had to fight little demons and big ones and middle sized ones. One time Jim had been missing for seven months. I didn’t know where he was. Heck, he would rob stores, and what have ya, and run away. The police couldn’t find him. He was a good one to hide, let me tell ya. Only God knew where that rascal went. No one could find him. The devil spoke to me in the night. “Jim is dead.” And then the devil would give me pictures in my mind of a gravestone with Jim’s name on it. During the day, the devil spoke to me “He is dead. He is dead. Quit prayin’ for him. You are wasting your time. Go on with your life. He is dead.”

Beat the Hell Out

See, the devil kept lying to me that Jim was dead and I shouldn’t waste my time. He told me the party was over and I had lost the battle. What has he told you to make you quit prayin’? He is an expert at telling you that you have lost the battle. I love the part in the Bible where the Syrian King tells God’s people under Hezekiah that he had fought a lot bigger battles then their sorry army and he would win over them. And Satan tells us that, too.

Well, so I go on with God as the devil is screamin’ at me. Devil says, “He is dead — quit prayin’.” Well, I was tearin’ up hell prayin’ for Jim and the devil was pullin’ every punch to try to get me to stop. Why? Because he knew that I would teach this stuff all over the world and start a Revolution. He didn’t like me and he still don’t. And he still tries to get me to quit.

Anyway, back to my story. I would plead with God, “Lord, please show me your will. Is Jim dead, Lord? Please tell me.” And one day the Holy Ghost came over me. And I spiritually took this little lyin’ demon upstairs with me and I read him the word of God. I told him I live in the true vine and He is Jesus Christ. I said to him, “Do you believe that Jesus is God and that He came in the flesh and that he saved me from my sins?” And I heard this demon speak to me and he said, “Jesus is not the Son of God and he didn’t come in the flesh and if you stick with me, I will tell you many things you know not.” Well, I didn’t care to know what a demon knew so I rebuked that lying spirit and I cast it out of my house. I then prayed for Jim and he came home within the week.

We have an enemy. His name is Satan. And some of you listen to him but won’t listen to the heavenly messengers around you. And the Lord is chastening you for your unbelief. We can’t live this spiritual life and amount to anything in God without the supernatural voice of God. Satan don’t care if you believe in the supernatural or not. He just goes ahead and lies to you and condemns you and makes you cry UNCLE. But you need to listen to the heavenly angels. Heavenly messengers are about us. Heaven is very close right now. Our country is in danger and the angels are closer to us then ever before. They know we fear and are perplexed as danger and heartaches are all about us. But we are not alone — the heavenly messengers are attending us.

One other time, Jim called me and was coming home. The devil said, “Well, the police will pick him up the minute he gets on the block.” Satan wanted me again to quit prayin’, give up, roll over and play dead. I prayed, “Lord, let Jim come home and then give us some time before they find him.” I prayed he would be invisible. He came home, got a job and became the assistant manager at a restaurant. Every day the highway patrol came in for coffee and Jim sat with them and ate donuts. Jim was even on TV advertising the restaurant. No one ever saw him. We didn’t have a car and he walked to work every day. Then, as he wasn’t saved, he politely robbed the place and took off one night. The Holy Spirit told me he did that and I called the Police. No one could figure out how I knew that he had robbed the place and took a cab out of town. But I knew as the Lord told me. I told them right where to find Jim in the next town and Jim walked right to them with the money, all of it. In court, the judge told Jim, “If it wasn’t for your wife, Mr. Hultquist, you would be doin’ a lot of time.” Well, Wild Man knew that. It was years later in the prison, an angel came to Jim in his cell and God began a healing in Jim.

Think of what could happen if every wife in our country would pray for their husbands and not give up. Think of how the crime rate would go down. I ain’t braggin on me. I am braggin on Jesus and His angels. I was in the lions den and it wasn’t fun. But we must fight the good fight of faith. And we can’t be listening to the flesh, ours our anyone else’s.

Fight the Fight of Faith

And there is nothing worse on this earth than feeling the rejection of your husband. Wild Man and I had 26 years of joy after 12 years of hell. But God gave me double blessings for all that I suffered. One day Jesus said, “It’s over, Connie, your miracle is here.” And this man who had left me 30 some odd times was redeemed and set free by the precious blood of the Lamb. King Jesus told Satan to go back to the pits of hell never to touch His anointed again.

And Papa, who had been a criminal, died in a hospital room with all of his 6 babies weeping and his wife honoring him. Danny cried, “Papa, oh, Papa!” And all of the children said their good-byes. And the hospital chaplain was there and he was an old man. And he said, “I have never seen such love in a family. I have worked here many years but the Love like this I have never seen.” All of my children cried for Jim and hugged him in his death bed. And they cried upon each other as loving brothers and sisters. A day before Papa died, he waited for Christian Joy to come. He had such a special love for Christian Joy and lingered in his bed and wouldn’t die until she came from NYC. When she came into the room, his countenance lifted. His eyes were closed but when he heard her voice, he glowed. She was one of the first 3 children that was abandoned many times with me. But she knew that Papa now loved her. Her husband Jason has a personality like Jim’s. Johnny was left, too, but has a heart of love for his family. Jimmy, the oldest, still has a few issues. But honored his Dad to the end.

How did I live through all of this? It was because of the power of Jesus and His supernatural messengers. Ya know when Satan comes up with the supernatural evil in your life, you can’t fight it with the flesh. You have to have the working power of the Holy Ghost going on. Satan will bang you back and forth like a ping pong ball and laughing all the way.

Whatever you need to do, learn the gifts of the Spirit. We have to fight the good fight of faith and not give up. But it takes more than the bulldog tenaciousness not to give up. You have to have the angels with ya in the lions den. Stay out of the world and their foolishness. Get wicked, if ya have to, to stop what the worldly people are telling you to do. Tune ‘em off. Be ruthless. Listen to the Holy Spirit.

Love,
Connie

Wisdom

Dear Mothers,

I felt so desperate yesterday. Thanks for all of the prayers.

I am wanting to cut loose on the teachings on wisdom. One thing I was thinking of, as I was meditating on wisdom, is this. When I went out to Dixie’s and then came home, I could hold that imparting of wisdom from the wisdom in Dixie for about three days. She had a gift of wisdom and even the crumbs from under her table would be enough to hold you in your homemaking for a few days. Jill had other gifts like Dixie’s. But I don’t know if I was just spiritually inept in this area? I dunno. But Jill and Dixie would go more by the Holy Spirit’s voice, but I had to have words out of the Bible for everything. Turns out they were right. But I had to have the scriptures to back everything up. Why? I guess because I was to become a writer, a wordsmith. Dixie used to give me a pad of paper and say, “This is for you. You are a writer.” Jill even said the other day, as we were praying for Jane, “Connie, I always pray in tongues and you pray in words.”

But this gift Dixie had was more then just a desire to do housework. After being with her, I would come home and do something like go straight to the fridge and clean it out. I mean it was a spirit that came on ya that all you wanted to do is take care of the children, cook, clean, and adore your husband. It was not a normal desire. Other gifts would accompany it like a gift of inventions or knowledge. Like the spirit of wisdom taught Dixie to dress out a chicken when she hadn’t done it before. It was the difference in homemaking, like an artist that could paint a picture as opposed to one who could just draw a straight line.

This wisdom I am writing about, out of Proverbs, is a wisdom that was like a sport. I would get this wisdom on me as I would go out to plant herbs or gather them. It was like playing with a puppy or doing something so fun you couldn’t stop. You get lost in time as you are caught up in the Holy Spirit as the gift of wisdom is in operation. I went out to Dixie’s once and the kitchen looked red. She had tomatoes stacked almost to the ceiling as she was canning. And almost every one of those tomatoes was perfect and the same size and color. Jill had a perfect garden. I am talkin’ perfect. It looked like she had a name for every vegetable. Even though her children were young. Even though her husband had deserted her. These women were unbelievable.

But I would tell Dixie that I needed the wisdom and she would say, “Oh, Connie, you have it.” But I didn’t have it and I am still looking for it. I mean, like I said before, Dixie was about 135 pounds of wisdom and I got about 30 pounds of it. But she got this imparting of wisdom in about two weeks and I have been lookin’ for it for about twenty-one years. But Dixie gave up everything to find it. No phone, TV or anything like that. She had a radio that she listened to after supper.

But with every blessing, there is a monster there to destroy it, like I said in my last writing. Dixie’s husband, I must say, finally won out on that deal. He was an unbeliever and finally managed to destroy Dixie with his ways. She finally became discouraged and gave up a lot. Still, she fought the good fight and died knowing more of the wisdom of God than I ever got in twenty-one years. And no tellin’ if I will keep it to the end, either.

Dixie lived in the word — not especially Proverbs, like I go by. But a lot of what she said and did was out of Proverbs. Dixie’s dream, of course, was to always go deeper into the wisdom and buy her own land. But then cancer came along. Boy, did she fight that. But eventually the hospital killed her with a medical procedure that they goofed up on. They wrote Em, her daughter, a letter and told her that Dixie never died of cancer. But that they were giving her an antibiotic and a blood transfusion at the same time and this put her into an a coma and she died.

I mean you can have faith but not have a gift of it. You can be wise but not have a gift of wisdom. Wisdom has other gifts that accompany it. Wisdom is instinct in animals. It teaches the birds to fly south for the winter. It teaches a mother to nurse her baby. We are to learn wisdom from the ants. (Proverbs 6:6)

“With Wisdom a house is built” — this means spiritual and natural. Every wise woman builds her house, meaning she is wise and to prove it, she builds a house. If she is wise, she is good at what pertains to the home. She is a good mother and wife and homekeeper. Usually, a woman who loves her husband is wise in her homemaking and is a good mother. Because she is wise. Wisdom always has to do with building a home. Like Solomon built the temple with wisdom.

The strange woman is so talked about and rebuked in Proverbs because she is the opposite of wisdom. She is strange. Her feet abide not in her own home. She is an adulterer. She is feminism. She is a strange spirit. And as Solomon was taken down because of his many strange wives, the wisdom of God is choked out of us through the strange woman of Proverbs. “Strange” meaning she is not God’s daughter. This woman directly or indirectly comes at the wise woman and seeks to destroy her spirit of wisdom. She is the harlot of Revelations that drinks the blood of the saints. She is after our lives! Like my Mary who has become a harlot. She breaks my heart and nearly kills me. But this is the spirit that will take you down, either as adultery in your home, or an outside influence, one way or the other.

If we plan on getting the wisdom of God and keeping it, we need to stay away from adultery. Because this is the main spirit that will take the life of God out of you and your home. The wisdom of God will save your home. Or the spirit of adultery will destroy it. The foolish woman is foolish to begin with and this is why she runs out of the house to get a job when she doesn’t have to.

There is also much wealth in wisdom. Spiritual wealth and physical wealth. The wise woman’s price is far above rubies. And also we will attain wealth through wisdom as Solomon did. Wisdom also brings health and happiness. Happy is the woman who trusts in the Lord. Also it brings long life that satisfies.

Proverbs says to call wisdom our sister and understanding our kinswoman. Wisdom is to live with us daily and we are to train our minds to hear her, as she is a woman’s voice, as I wrote about it yesterday in the first part, as spoken of in the first 8 chapters of Proverbs. Our problem is that we have a voice in our heads, most of the time, from the world that is the voice of feminism. We have to renew our minds with the voice of wisdom in Proverbs.

Adultery is like idolatry and it causes a woman to chase other gods. She wants her husband and other men, too.

The gift of wisdom doesn’t depend upon having a husband. As in Proverbs 6:6, the ants have wisdom without any overseer. It’s good to have a husband so that he can protect you as you play out wisdom in the home. But if you don’t have wisdom, it’s not your husband’s fault unless he is in adultery, and the strange woman is coming in the home through husband. Wisdom is stronger than adultery — way far stronger, as greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. Strange women took the wisest man who ever lived down.

But like Dixie always told me, “Connie, the wisdom of God is a secret.” And I would say, ya gotta dig for it. Ya gotta seek it as gold. It is your life. Seek it in Proverbs and learn to hear the voice of wisdom. Exalt her and she will preserve you.

Well, this writing is, um — well, moving right along. I had to stop and make lunch.

So, anyway, wisdom is a foundation. We build our homes spiritually and physically as Nehemiah built back up the walls of Jerusalem.

We will always have the woman in the strange land, foreign to God and His word, she will taunt us and try to kill us. But we fight her off with the Word of God concerning the virtuous woman. And we as wives and mothers fight to keep adultery out of our family. If a family member is in adultery, then we must deal with it. Not deny it as it will bring more deception. Ezekiel 3 says that we are to tell the truth about it so that the blood won’t be on our hands. And that we will save our own lives. Adultery will kill you spiritually, as you are worshiping another God. It will send you to hell. (I dare say, too, that there is a woman on this group, a Christian, who is in adultery. I can feel it.) But, anyway, yes, we need to deal with adultery in our families as Mothers and Wives. There is hope in this, and it can be worked out. We are to tell the truth about it and pray for the person. And the Lord will heal them and they will go and sin no more. But no one commits adultery because someone made them do it. It is a spirit and the innocent mate didn’t give it to the adulterer. But the guilty one will try to accuse the innocent.

Adultery comes as folks get into the world and begin to chase other gods. I think fornication is different if it doesn’t include married people. But a lot of Christian women divorce as they have chosen a new god. One that isn’t in the Bible. One like what Joyce portrays and not the truth of the Keepers at Home.

Many Church women get away with multiple marriages and divorces. And no one skips a beat. But when the old harlot gets sick or needs a miracle, God will wonder who she is and why she expects to be healed. Like Aunt Toot says, “Pay day comes.” A lot of harlots can get a miracle by going to church as the truly Christian women will pray for them. Of course, then the blood of the harlot is on the Christian woman. The Bible says not to fellowship with unbelievers. The wise woman will not have fellowship with darkness. But she will reprove it. She will call it out in order to give the harlot over to Satan that her flesh would be burned and her spirit will be saved.

But, no, you wives don’t need to tell an adulterous husband off. It isn’t your place. But the truth within you will begin to work on its own. God’s word works. As you know the truth, you will be set free and your husband will eventually be set free, also. But if you stand in guilt as the innocent party, then you will be feeding this demon and it will continue to try to kill you and slowly destroy you.

Truth and wisdom has to build the home. We are building temples of righteousness as women of wisdom. And, yes, we love the sinner but we can’t be stupid enough to ignore the sin. The sin will take down the whole house for generations to come. We don’t have to try to stop that wild bull of adultery. We let the truth do that as we are covenant keepers and we hold the TRUTH in our hearts. And the Truth is what will bring our families into God’s holy order.

Love,
Connie

Stand up and Fight

This is gonna be a message and a half. So get ready. The backdrop of this writing is something I have wanted to write on for a while. And Jill wrote back about Dixie, as I had written about Dixie and I asked Jill if she had anything to write and she did. I don’t know if it went to the letters group or not. I hope it did. In her writing, she told of the good works Dixie did and so did I. And in Jill’s writing she talked about how I had loved Dixie so much but it was all so obvious that she never said Dixie loved me.

Dixie was very anointed of God as a wife and homemaker. She had actually seen the spirit of wisdom. She was the most spiritual woman I have ever known. But I had been out to see Dixie with Jill and she would hardly talk to me or almost ignore me. She would get Jill a cup of coffee and almost not get me one. Now this is actually very hard to explain. Sometimes if I came to see Dixie without Jill, she wouldn’t answer the door. Jill will tell you Dixie almost hated me. I mean not all the time but a lot of the time. I wouldn’t have put up with that from anyone else. But ya know Dixie had such an anointing from God on her that I wanted to come to her house under any circumstances. She would tell me that I was a feminist and she would rebuke the devil from me. Oh yeah, I would be insulted for a while. But I loved God so much and I found this anointing nowhere but with Dixie and I had to have what she had. And I bugged her to the point that she would give me what I wanted, just to get rid of me for a while?

And somehow I sensed when she was about to leave the farm and I went out to see her. No license and on a dark road with no street lights. I barely drove the car except to the store. But my heart ached for the anointing. And I went out to her house just days before she left there. Still she didn’t admit defeat. But she took a picture off the wall of her farm and she showed it to me. And she prayed the anointing upon me from that farm area. Dixie, in a way, had forsaken her anointing at that point. And she gave it to me. And God knows I am trying to give it to you all.

Dixie used to tell me, as she was put out with me, “You are after my oil and you won’t get it.” Meaning I was after the Holy Spirit within her. I didn’t see it as that, but maybe it was so. But if it had been legal, Dixie would have shot me with a gun.

Many people didn’t know Dixie was anointed. Jill did and I did. I would tell Dixie that she had a message — a message that the world was dying for. She would wave me on with her hand. “Oh, Connie, those women in the world don’t want this teaching on homemaking.” But, oh, you all did and do, and I need it, too, still as an old woman. Dixie lived the life, as Jill said in her writing, and I was the writer. Dixie used to look down at the floor and say, “Connie, you have a lot of faith … more then most people.” But it seemed she hated me for it in the end. I fought her as Jacob fought the angel for the blessing. Her anointing in wisdom and as keeper at home was an anointing that you will rarely hear about. Jill and I were eye witnesses of an anointing that could change our nation. If we can only pipe it to ya.

As I think of Jill as I write, I laugh out loud. As I wrote just now about Dixie, I cried, but now Jill is a piece of work and I laugh when I think of her. Jill is anointed, too. She told me a few days ago about sending a card to this young man in jail. He is a young man that everyone has given up on. Anyone who is thought of as a total loser, Jill will send them a card and pray for ‘em. She won’t talk to them. God forbid! But I am tellin’ you what, Jill is someone who is out of this world as far as faith goes. If she and I agree on something in prayer, it’s done. Pray that she will write more on here. You all would be so blessed. Her gifts in homemaking are absolutely a treasure that should be told.

The Anointing

And ya know, I wrote Part 1 to try to explain to you that just because you want an anointing don’t mean you will get it. You have to fight the world and the flesh for it. You have to desire God above your hurt feelings.

Some of you with unsaved husbands who try to beat an anointing out of you — don’t go for it. Don’t be led about by a bad husband. Don’t throw out your anointing because your husband came in drunk. Or he said he didn’t like you or your life as a homemaker. Desire the anointing of God above your marriage.

Protect your anointing by your marriage. Don’t give up your covering of marriage in order to get back at your husband. You are playing a cat and mouse game that you will never win. Don’t give up an anointing of God because you want to make this sorry sucker pay for what he did. Fight an angel and get a broken hip. But don’t give up your anointing.

See, the woman with the PLAGUE (Mark 5:29) grabbed the hem of Christ’s garment. The world had put a plague upon this woman. It was in her female organs. And what did she need to be healed? She pulled virtue out of Jesus’ garment. She pulled the power of the virtuous woman out of Jesus. And of all the folks pulling on Him, He felt the virtue go out of Him when she pulled it out. She wrestled the crowd to get to Him. Her very presence was against the law as she was bleeding and wasn’t supposed to be out in public. But she had to go — she had to go to save her own life. She wrestled the crowd to grab the lifesaving anointing. She was afraid but the anointing of God was the greater emotion. She knew Jesus was the man who could heal her. Folks probably pushed her and called her names but she didn’t care — she had to have the anointing.

The same with Solomon. He wanted the anointing or the wisdom to lead his people. And he wanted it above his reputation. He wanted it above riches or the revenge of his enemies. And God rewarded him with wisdom.

The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. But you must run the race and take with violence the anointing. And when you get it, it is the pearl of great price. But it slips easily out of your hands. If you become offended, you will lose it. Also, if you lose it, you won’t get it back. If you out and out forsake it. I don’t care how much you want it back, I don’t think you can get it. I mean this is just my observation. I am sure Solomon wanted it back after he lost it. But he never got it … I don’t think, anyway. See, this is why God doesn’t sometimes give us an anointing. Because if we are young spiritually, we may give it up too easily and never have a chance to get it back.

And I think God knew that Dixie had given it up and he gave it to me to see what I would do with it. Time will only tell what I will do. The question of many around me is, “What is Connie gonna do?” I have Jill tellin’ me she will break my legs if I go against God. I tell folks that I am stayin’ right here at the house until Jesus comes to get me. And the people of the world say, “Well, ya never know.” And I say, “Well, I will just do what Jesus tells me to do.” But I am tellin’ you one thing, I am protecting the anointing on me at all costs. I am a covenant box and the covenant is safe at this point in me. But will I make it for the long haul? I don’t know. I am depending on Him.

If anyone could break me, it would be Mary Elisabeth who I raised at my knee. If she doesn’t break me, nothing will. But so far, the devil is putting much pressure on me to give up and declare that being a godly mother is worth nothing. My flesh screams out that all is lost. But the anointing in me cries out, “Don’t give up — help is coming.”

We are tested and tried. But, oh, that anointing of peace that I feel is so precious. The works of righteousness brings peace and rest. “Oh, dear Jesus, anoint the daughters of Zion with an oil of Joy. Let our faces shine with the oil of Your anointing.”

Wisdom

I dare say I have never written much of anything. If you were me, you would know what I mean. It is not a false modesty that I am tryin’ to display. The only writings I ever wrote that even begin to touch on the reality I want to write about are the writings on Wisdom. The writings out of Proverbs 1-8 are the important writings … as far as I feel it, anyway. Because the other, you can get from Debbie Pearl or some of the other writers. But what I haven’t seen out there is the wisdom writings. Those are hard to write as they are so out there. They set ya free but you ain’t sure how? But most of my writings are things I have learned on my knees and the wisdom writings are the writings I have to dig for in a different place. I have had a vision of myself laying face down by Dixie’s old garden and sucking the wisdom out of the earth. As I swallowed it, and it was sweet in my soul, it came out my pen as a ready writer.

“Lord Jesus, please anoint our heads with oil and make our hair wet with thine anointing. Let us as Mothers and Wives see signs and wonders in our families. Let our homes be built upon a hill full of shining windows. Oh, God, as Satan desires to sift us as wheat, let us arise unto living lights that glow in the darkness.”

OK, I have written about Spiritual Housewifery but it was choppy and wordy at best. It’s hard to explain, I guess. Dixie was 135 pounds of wisdom and I only got about 30 pounds of that. I am a poor excuse.

But in Proverbs chapters 1-8, it speaks of Wisdom having a voice that you can hear. So it’s like you can hear the Holy Spirit. And there is a male and female wisdom. But what I want to write on is the female part of wisdom. She has a voice. Chapter 1:20 says Wisdom crieth without. She utters her voice in the street. Verse 21 says she cries out in the chief places and in the gates of the city. Verse 23 says as Wisdom speaks “Turn you at my reproof. Behold I will pour out my spirit unto you. I will make known my words to you.” She speaks as a mother to us and we can hear her with the ears of our spirits. Our spirit has ears but, so often, many of us only hear Jezebel’s voice such as, “Make something of your life — get a job” or “I want a divorce.” But what does the virtuous woman of Wisdom say to us?

Also it is to her son so I will pick out the parts where she speaks to women. I mean all of it is for us. Just please read it. But one place, Chapter 2 verse 16, says that wisdom will deliver us from the spirit of Jez or the strange woman. Verse 17, the strange woman forsakes the guide of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God. This is speaking of a woman who knew the Lord. The Christian whore who knew the covenant and forsook it. Her house is the house of death. So this means not to have anything to do with a whore or a church that doesn’t teach on Titus 2.

Proverbs 2:13- Happy is the man (woman) who finds wisdom. 14 says that wisdom is better than money and worth more. And I am here to tell you, this is true. 15- Wisdom is more precious then rubies. Her ways are ways of pleasantness and all her paths are peace.

18- She is a tree of life. “Happy is the one who can retain her.” Yes, to retain her is important. To retain her until you see His glory. It don’t count if ya give up. You young women are being trained now to be virtuous Titus 2 Mothers.

19- “The Lord founded the earth with wisdom.” Wisdom is our foundation. The wise man (woman) builds their house upon the rock. Proverbs 14:1 says EVERY wise woman builds her house and the foolish tear it down.

Chapter 4:5- Get wisdom. Get understanding. 6- Forsake her not and she shall preserve thee. Love her and she shall keep thee. 7- Wisdom is the principal thing. 8- Exalt her and she shall promote you. She will bring you to honor when you embrace her.

I want to keep writing on this but I want to say that the Proverbs 31 woman is the picture of Proverbs.

Old Prairie Land

Dear Mothers,

Oh, lately nothing has ministered to me as much as looking out my side screen door. It’s right behind me as I write. That old black screen door is maybe 50 years old at least. It’s wooden and has an old screen in it on the outside and then a strong one on the inside. I imagine in the old days, the children kept breaking it out and a Daddy nailed a stronger screen on the inside. Anyway, between the screens I have placed flowers that I have dried.

Johnny mowed just lately but the grass was getting pretty high out the side yard and I loved it. Oh, it looked so old fashioned with Dixie’s windmill out there and the gourds growing around it. See, Iowa became a state in about 1850 something I think. So the house I live in is one of the first ones built in Iowa. I let my wild herbs grow in my yard as to take the land back to the way it once was. I have old fashioned flowers, too, that come up each year. The flowers I am enjoying right now are the morning glories. In the fall, these glories cover everything. They have blue flowers and purple, white and pink. They grow up the house and all over. Many people hate them as they intertwine everything but I love them. If I could, I would just let the grass grow in certain areas of my yard. I love the tall grass and old kinds of flowers as they sway in the summer breeze.

I am so happy here with my home as Papa had it. Jim loved nature and back to the land things. Papa wasn’t much with words. I never got into a word war with Jim as I knew I would win. I mean without really winning? But, oh, we connected in many ways. Mostly over homemade bread or a fresh apple pie.

Papa ran after me in his heart, always afraid of losing me to something. One time, he wrote about how glad he was, as I had told him that I had abandoned myself to him and our children. Jim wanted all of me and didn’t want to share me. It was a sacrifice to him to give me up as a writer. It was a sacrifice to me, too. All I ever wanted was Jim and the children and our home. I wanted to have children through my 50s. But Jim used to tell folks that one of the reasons he ran away from his family in the old days is because he had put me on such a pedestal and didn’t think he could keep up with me. Often I told him I loved him and only him. But in the early years he would say, “You only love me because God told you to.” Little did he know that I truly loved him with or without God.

When I first met Jim, I just loved him right off the bat. I ate bullets for breakfast and nothing less than Jim would do. I still remember how he held me as we danced our first slow dance together. The other day, as I had gone to the store, I heard a song on the radio. I had to listen to it in the car before I went in the store. The singer was a son asking God to let his Mom dance one more time with his father who had died. Well, Papa and me will dance again with golden slippers on golden streets.

But as I write this morning, I can feel Papa’s spirit as I feel the cool breeze coming through the old screen door behind me. And I hear locusts and the crickets chirp. “Oh, Papa, yes, I will pick the apples this morning. I picked the wild plums yesterday.” Jim always called me away from my daydreaming and writing to the Prairie Land and to the works of righteousness. Papa was a dreamer, too — a visionary. But he didn’t know how to tell me what he had dreamed.

I talked to Danny, our son age 24, last week. He went to NYC to find himself and to get discovered as a musician. Feeling kinda like a failure as a mom, I said to Dan (my fifth child), “Danny, did Dad and I do anything right raising you kids?” He said, “Oh, Mom, you and Dad did everything right. Us kid had a ball growing up. We learned to be creative and to do things on our own.” But I said, “Danny, do ya still love the Lord? And what is the best thing Dad and I taught you personally?” Danny said the best and most important thing we taught him was that he could make it one way or the other. That nothing could take him down. I asked Dan if he liked NYC and he said that he missed home and the garden and the fruit trees. He misses Papa, as we all do. But the City is mostly concrete and he misses the wild flowers and what he grew up with.

I haven’t made a loaf of bread since I lost my Jim. My heart land has not rained and my heart has been dry and covered with sand. But it will bloom again I see it in my visions. I see specks of dreams that I am going on — as Dan says, “Mom, you and Dad taught us to never give up.”

Danny and I laughed about the year the gas bill got so high. And how we turned the heat off altogether and wore our coats in the house. The bill went to 25 bucks after being 500 and some dollars. Our outside dog would cry by the kerosene burner but I wouldn’t turn it on until just before the family was up for breakfast. We laugh about how Mom outlasted the dog. I would tell the dog that if I could make it without fur, then she could make it, too. Even our dog was a survivor. She lived to be 15 years old. The only time she saw a vet was when we took her to have her put down. She was old and had pneumonia.

One time John was chasing this kid his age with a bat. Jim saw him and chased John, trying to stop him. John said, “Dad, he called Mom a bit–.” And Jim said, “Oh, OK” and let John go. Always a story to tell!

I guess we just didn’t have much money to take us through and we refused to give up on anything. As I write, I look at my family table still set for 7 or 8 people. Oh, the stories I could tell. Stories of just plain not givin’ up. Papa and me would just say, “Well, we will just make it somehow.” Then Jim would smile and pretend to tip his hat. “We always do.”

But ya know a lot of it had to do with going back to the land. Going back to basics. There is a secret there. The Depression era Mothers did the same thing when they lost everything. They went back to the land and made a home. This old home of mine went through the Depression era and stood tall and strong and I will, too. And in my desert, I will bloom as the desert rose. And as I tip my hat to Papa in heaven, I say, “And, yes, Papa we will make it as we always do.”

Enduring Hardness

2 Timothy 2:3 speaks of enduring hardness as good soldiers of Christ. Ya know we as moms are not raising children that will fit into the Dr. Dobson crowd. We are raising Christian men and women who have to be strong and mighty for Jesus. We are raising soldiers that will live a much harder life then what we have lived.

I am not very proud of my kids sometimes the way they act. But I am glad that Jim and I taught them some survival in the spirit and in the flesh. I don’t think any of my kids will ever end up on the street. Dan said that Dad often said to him, “Ya don’t want to be a sissy, do ya?” I was telling John what Dan said, and John said, “Yeah, Dad always said that. ‘You boys, don’t be sissies.’” I guess if we taught them how not to be sissies, that was one good thing.

Well, my boys are all young bucks now. I do pray that their faith will take them further, though, in the Spirit. I know that Jim’s and my life made an impact on them. Dan and John and David all plan to have sons and name them after Jim. David’s next son will be called David James. Johnny wants one called Jesse James. Oh, those boys! But ya know long after I am gone to be with Papa in the Golden City, I hope I will hear the boys out of heaven say, “Well, if Dad and Mom made it with 6 kids, then we can make it somehow.” And ya know it was in the hard times that Jim and I learned faith and to trust in God.

Oh, we hate the times of desperation. But it is in these times that we learn hardness as good soldiers for Christ. Ya know when you tell a person to fight the good fight of faith, so many don’t understand what you are talking about. It’s because they don’t know how to fight for survival in the physical. But it is fight, then rest, fight and then rest — in both the spiritual battles and the physical battles.

Our kids entertain everyone around them. John and Dan and Chrissy are like stand up comedians. But we made our own entertainment at home. Joy was our strength. Often the world was down our throats and we had to shut the door in the evening and laugh it off. We have to laugh and be silly at times. We have to be childlike and pretend that all is well, often when it isn’t. Faith is sorta connected to this. If times are really hard, then we have to sometimes up our pretending.

A good soldier knows how to rest in between battles. Spiritual battles are like labor pains. They come and we learn to breathe prayers to God that the pain will soon be over. And then it is for a while — we sort of plateau off. And then we have a time of rest until the next battle comes and then we pray again. Each time, we must pray until we believe and then have a time of rest and peace. As we are obedient to pray, to believe, then rest and wait, we are getting closer to the answered prayer.

Just as God leads us as we birth a baby, we also birth miracles as we follow Christ and we pray until we believe and then rest. He that hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Christ. You will not go through labor and not bring forth a child. Same as in the Spirit, you go through a labor of pain and rest and pain and rest. If you give up, you won’t see the miracle come. You may see an aborted dream come — maybe the opposite of what you ask God for. But if you want a true miracle, you must fight the good fight of faith. And that is hard very hard. But learn hardness as a good soldier and fight the good fight.

Some tell us concerning our kids, “Well, just give them to the Lord and go on.” Yeah, right! Some of us moms can’t do that. Our kids are lost and in trouble we raised them for Jesus.

Don’t rest, dear Mother, until you pray through and until you believe God for a miracle. When you have prayed through, then rest in God. And don’t be afraid or think you won’t be attacked for your faith, as you will be. But when you are attacked, pray again. Don’t give up and you will see His glory.

Love,
Connie

Women of Honor

Dear Mothers,

Oh, I am enjoying having Olivia Jean, 4 years old, to watch each day. (Not weekends.) Yesterday afternoon we went on a picnic. My neighbor friend Linda babysits also, so we all went together. We walked to a park uptown. It’s just a short walk of about six blocks. Then later on yesterday, Johnny brought Rose and Romeo to see me. We all had supper. Just goulash. John needed to pick up his lawn mower. Olivia enjoyed playing with the grand kids. I am so surprised that Olivia entertains herself in the mornings and I can write. I thought I would have to do all of my writings about 5:00 in the morning before Olivia got here. But I guess I can still write as usual.

What has been on my heart lately is abused women. Ya know when you talk about “submission” on a group like ours, everyone thinks you mean putting up with abuse and all kinds of malarkey. But we as submissive wives use Jesus Christ as our example. (1 Peter 2 and 3) Jesus didn’t go to the cross because He was too afraid to run the other way. Jesus had prayed in the Garden about going. He didn’t want to go. But He made a decision to go in His quiet night of prayer. Many times, as the people tried to kill Him, He disappeared in the crowd. He could have gotten out of dying at Calvary’s cross. He had a choice and decided to die for the sins of His people. Women of honor are like this. No one makes a woman of dignity do anything that she hasn’t already decided to do, made a decision to do.

Jesus carried his cross to Calvary. He didn’t go because He was afraid of the soldiers. And once He got on the cross, He could have called the angels to take Him down. He who had healed the multitudes could have healed Himself. The Roman soldiers mocked Him and lied about Him. But He was a soldier of dignity and honor and He didn’t answer them back. He didn’t need to answer His accusers — he knew the truth and stood for it. And folks will lie about us as Christian Mothers and accuse us of all kinds of things. What does it matter to daughters of Sarah? Let them accuse you and mock you. A woman of dignity stands strong and tall in the face of accusations. She doesn’t answer back. She lets God answer for her. And if He doesn’t at the time answer for her, then she is still not moved.

A woman of dignity is a woman who is never caught off guard. She pivots from the inner man, the meek and quiet spirit. But an abused woman is skittish. She flits from one thing to the other. She smiles in front of her husband and when he turns his back, she is unfaithful. She has never made a decision one way or the other to be faithful. She moves by her fears and is like a hungry dog sneaking food when no one is looking. She lies continually about where she was and why it took her so long to get back home. Her husband can’t get the truth out of her for anything. And a lot of women like this scream abuse because their husbands won’t let them go to work or buy new clothes every week. But these women have a personality of foolishness. They don’t understand the woman of honor any more then they can understand their place as Keepers at Home. Many of these women are stingy with their husbands and children. They want what they want and now. They will take a man down and use up all he has and has worked for.

Now I realize children get abused. And they can’t help it. They are children and they aren’t mature enough to protect themselves. But a mature Christian wife would never live in abuse. One way or the other, she will work her way out of it. Jesus had a wonderful childhood for all we know from the scriptures. He then started His ministry at age 30 and died on the cross at 33. But He lived in a private religious home most of His life. He wasn’t beat every day or abused as a child. But when the time came for Him to give up His life, He knew it. No one browbeat Him to go to the cross.

And I realize there are some women who really are abused and don’t know where to turn for help. But to me being abused is a choice. A woman of strength and dignity will never allow anyone to abuse her.

The Word, in 1 Peter 3, says while they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. In other words, when a woman has a heart like Sarah, meek and quiet, a man becomes afraid of her. He beholds her pure actions and becomes fearful to cross her. And Dang! Don’t any of you give me any dirt on this stuff because I have earned my right to say it. But, see, some of you think that submission is “Yes Sir” and “No Sir” — it’s a lot more then that. We submit to our husbands to win him and the children to Jesus Christ. It’s a long hard process sometimes but that’s why a Christian wife submits to an unsaved husband. Or one who is saved but doesn’t obey the Word of God.

Our behavior as wives is to be holy and set apart unto God. We are to learn in silence and subjection. We are to be holy in our places as keepers at home. Our Home is our ministry. As we submit to our husbands, this is our submission to Christ. And the heavenlies line up with God’s authority and under Him is Christ and under Jesus is our husbands. As we pull in under our husbands, then our husbands are forced to pull in under Christ. It is that our hearts are submissive. We have hearts that are humble and obedient.

But we don’t always submit to our husband’s flesh. If he walks in the house and says, “I want a divorce” then, no, we don’t submit. But we have a meek and quiet heart of submission. We soften his heart by our faith in him. That he is the man of our prayers and you think the better of him. And you stay in an attitude of love and holiness. You don’t receive his decision to get a divorce. I mean God is on your side. If you are a covenant woman and a woman of honor, then you don’t want a divorce. But you must be quiet and submit to your husband. And if he wants you to file for a divorce, you do out of obedience. But you pray that God will intervene.

In the early days of my marriage, Jim came in the door one day after being gone for three months and said, “I want a divorce.” Well, I was way ahead of him and was prayed up. I didn’t want to laugh in his face so I ran to the bedroom to laugh. I was so glad to see him and had worried so much about his welfare. When I came out of the bedroom, he had Jimmy, 4 years old, sitting on the table and telling him that he was to always love his Mother but that Daddy didn’t love her anymore. I laughed like crazy over that. Finally, I looked into Wild Man’s eyes and I said, “Oh, Honey, everything will be alright.” Jim then admitted that he loved me but was just so tired of hurting me. I told him I was alright and that God was going to take care of us. I didn’t stand and preach at Jim as he would have hated that. I would just say then, “Honey, are you hungry?” And I would make him some food. My heart went out to him as he wasn’t saved, as I was. My husband didn’t know Jesus and my heart of compassion cared so for Jim.

Then I think that time he stayed home for about 2 months and ran away again. His mother died and no one could find Jim. He would hide out for months and no one could find him. Oh, such a troubled man he was. But, see, the Lord has a plan for these men. He wants them to become saved. And, see, a wife can obey God until hell freezes over and nothing will happen. But there comes a day as she is obeying God with her eyes fixed upon Him and not her circumstances. And the appointed day comes and God moves like a mighty wind upon her husband. But no man comes to Christ by the obedience of the wife only. But God moves as the wife prepares the way in the wilderness. She is a John the Baptist calling for her husband to look at the Savior. And one day, on the appointed day, Husband is miraculously saved and delivered.

And ya know, dear wives, as you act like Sarah and you study her in 1 Peter 2 and 3, you will become more like her. You must cultivate your soul and spirit so that you will become the virtuous woman. Virtue means power! The woman of power in this present world is the wife and mother at home. The woman who takes on the cloak of housewifery is the woman of honor and dignity. And the day will come as you follow and are taught of Sarah that you will see your husband come to Christ.

As you submit to your husband and honor him, you are moving the heavenlies about. You are loosing things in heaven and your husband will be loosed on earth. As you stand under the light of heaven through your obedience, you absolutely move the angels to move upon your mate. You sway the heavenlies with your holy obedience to God. When you willingly take up your cross and die daily to self and to this world, you move the Father’s heart. And you become a ruby ring upon His hand. And He moves His unseen hand and causes the circumstances to change. Your obedience will come up to His heavenly throne and the fragrance of your obedience will be a fragrance that He cannot live without. You become the Lord’s bride and He cannot live without you. You become so precious to Him as He sees your life being created for Him.

And the wife learns holy obedience as Christ did through what she has suffered. She comes through the cross as only God has designed. And she takes it all as Christ did at the cross. She is lied on and gossiped about. And yet she enters a marriage that God ordained and made with His own hands. And as before she suffered more than most wives, she now rejoices as no one else understands lest they went through the same sufferings. She has finally learned the wisdom of God. She wouldn’t go through that again for anything and yet she wouldn’t trade the experience for the wisdom she learned for all the gold and silver in the world. Because it wasn’t gold and silver that brought her through. But it was a holy obedience to God and to Him alone that delivered her and her loving and now saved husband.

And, yes, you can browbeat a man into walking the aisle at church and makin’ him say he is saved. But this is not the Bible way. And you will end up with a man who is only good at church and hell at home. What you must aim for is to show your husband by your holiness in the home that we must know God in a personal way. Because church won’t take you to heaven, only through the blood of Christ. Jesus must be your God, your only Lord. And as you suffer, dear Christian wife, turn only unto the Lord.

The angels are watching you. And whether you can know it or not, your unsaved husband is watching you, too. As you press on heaven with your obedience, the Lord will pull your husband into a holy place. And a sweet hour of prayer will come and you will see the Lord’s miracles and His glory. He promised and He will answer you and give you exceedingly and abundantly more then you can ask or think. He has Promised and He is not a man that he should lie.

1 Peter 3 Likewise ye wives be in subjection to your own husbands that if any obey not the word they will also without the word be won by the actions of the wife. The actions of holy obedience brings the heavenlies into place. And one day this obedience moves the heart of God. And husband hears the voice of God and surrenders his heart to Christ.

Love,
Connie
